October Athlete of the Month: Andre Bradford
Senior – Varsity Football
Inland Lakes Athletics proudly recognizes Andre Bradford as October’s Athlete of the Month. A cornerstone of the Bulldogs’ success, Andre delivered standout performances on both sides of the ball, helping lead the team to its fifth straight conference championship at Gaylord St. Mary’s.
In that high-stakes championship game, Andre rose to the occasion with 154 rushing yards on 11 carries, 5 receptions, and 4 touchdowns—a game that showcased his ability to thrive under pressure. When asked how he handles those intense moments, Andre shared: “I take time to calm myself down, take deep breaths, and focus on what I can control. Then I refocus and go back out and play hard.”
After a slow first quarter, Andre did exactly that—making big plays on offense and defense when his team needed him most. Andre credits his success to the people around him: “My teammates, especially Ethan Wager, push me every practice to be better. And the coaches—they put me in positions to succeed and believed in me.”
His October stats speak for themselves:
600 rushing yards
11 rushing touchdowns
102 receiving yards and 1 receiving touchdown
15 tackles and 2 interceptions
Andre approaches every challenge with a growth mindset: “Mindset is key! I worked all year on improving my performance mindset. I step on the field believing no one is better - believing in myself.”
In the halls and the classroom Andre brings leadership and a great attitude every day. Andre helps mentor younger kids in the class and in sports to help make a difference. Andre will continue his IL athletic journey this winter as a key contributor to the basketball team and this spring for baseball. Andre has been a key member of the DAWG athletic leadership team and raising the standards of what it means to be a DAWG athlete at Inland Lakes.
After a great Month of October and a great career as Bulldog Football program corner piece, when asked who inspires him, Andre didn’t hesitate: “My mom and Grandpa Marv inspire me and push me to be better. Mom and Grandpa never miss any games, keep me motivated and never give up on me and believe and support me always. They have sacrificed a lot for me to chase my football dream.”
As Andre closes out an incredible football career at Inland Lakes, Bulldog fans can look forward to cheering him on at the next level—Andre will continue his journey playing college football at Alma College.
