Dear Inland Lakes Families,
We want to keep you informed about a calendar adjustment we’re making to recover instructional time lost due to snow days and our recent well issue.
To help make up for this lost time, Friday, April 18th, which was originally scheduled as a half day, will now be a full day of school. This change helps us meet the state’s instructional time requirements while minimizing disruptions to the rest of the calendar.
We are also working with state officials to request a waiver for the days missed during the recent ice storm. Northern Michigan was under a state of emergency declared by Governor Whitmer during that time, and we are hopeful that some of those days will be excused. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we hear back on that decision.
If it’s determined that we still need to make up additional instructional time, we will reach out to families right away to share any further calendar changes or additions to the school year.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and continued support. Please reach out if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Beth Fairbanks
Superintendent
