| I understand that it is Mr. Brand's desire to help me understand
music and the creation of music at a deeper level. Though Mr.
Brand will help, I must do the learning. When I choose not to follow the
rules or expectations of the class, I am cheating myself out of an
opportunity to gain knowledge. I also need to realize that
classroom rules exist to create a setting where all students can learn.
Often, when someone is not following the rules and expectations of
class, that person may engage in other activities which may be
disturbing or distracting to fellow students. When this happens,
these other classmates are also cheated out of an opportunity to learn.
When I fail to follow the rules and expectations of the class, I am
unable to fully participate in class discussion and activities. I
know I am responsible for my behavior. I realize that it is
important for me to conduct myself in a way that helps me and helps my
classmates to learn. I must become a responsible member of the
Inland Lakes music program so that I may someday become a responsible
and well-rounded adult. The longer you live, the more you'll realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstance, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will "make or break" a company...a school...a home. The remarkable thing is that we all have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We can't change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable... The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our ATTITUDE. IT IS TRUE: Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. And so it can be, with you... YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF YOUR ATTITUDES! |
