Art for the Hungry

Inland Lakes School District presented the first annual Art for the
Hungry at 7 p.m. on Friday April 18th. “The results were
remarkable” said Erin Carnes, ILS Art Teacher. The event was
attended by over 270+ people with a crew of 10 volunteers under the
direction of Mrs. Carnes pulling it all together. The evening raised
funds for The Joy Fellowship food pantry and ILS Fine Arts Program.

Student work at all grade levels was on display with elementary
students receiving a certificate of partcipation and middle and high
school art judged for 1st, 2nd, and an excellence ribbon in various
categories. The evening also displayed the talents of the ILHS band,
led by band director Rich Brand and a performance by Drama/Green
Team, sponsored by Dan Fletcher.
