Theme of the Week: Self-Control
William Penn said, "If thou wilt conquer thy weakness thou must not gratify it." So often, as adults and students, we equate desires with rights. Learning to curb impulsiveness and walking away from things that are not right is always difficult to do. Help your child achieve the rewards of self-control by encouraging them to practice daily positive habits and discipline. Speaking words of encouragement, controlling their emotions and temper when angry, and developing the habits of proper nutrition, exercise, and rest are things we all need to work on and skills we all want our children to exhibit.
Here are the upcoming calendar items for the week of April 7:

Energy Drinks
If you allow your child to drink the energy drinks, please reconsider this. The extremely high amounts of sugar in these drinks cause children to get a huge rush of energy but it is quickly followed by a severe crash of lethargy and irritableness. I am seeing more and more students bring these to school to drink at lunch and I see the negative impact on children in the afternoon.
