2010 - A true partnership with Inland Lakes Schools was established three years ago upon the creation of the “Friends of Inland Lakes” non-profit organization.  This group of volunteers has worked each year to provide supplemental teaching materials/equipment to various departments within the school.  This year the Friends group has donated $13,000 for the purchase of technology equipment, for the Inland Lakes Elementary School.  Thirteen sets of projectors and word document readers will be purchased with these funds. Each set will be placed in a classroom for the teachers to utilize during instruction.  The staff truly appreciates the efforts of the F.O.I.L.S. group! 

Next year’s LobsterFest (the only fundraising event this group does) will be held on July 13, 2011 at Marina Park, in Indian River.  Any person who wishes to volunteer at that event or join the Friends of Inland Lakes team should call 231-238-6868.
