The Boosters have paid off the bleacher loan ($70,800 at no cost to the
school) and made a presentation on Oct. 16, 6:50 p.m. at the
football field, just before kick-off of the Homecoming game.

FAQ About Inland Lakes Boosters, Inc.

 

Who are the Boosters? IL Boosters Inc. Is a non-profit organization for the benefit of all Inland Lakes students. Current member are Doug Schofield, Dave Somerville, Lisa Schofield and Denise Hand.
Who can be a Booster? Anyone can be a member of the Boosters. In fact seats are open on the Board.
How do you become a Booster? To become a Booster simply come to a meeting or contact a board member.
When and where do the Boosters Meet? Meetings are the first Monday of the month, 7:15 p.m. at the RAC.
Why did the Boosters come into existence? In the 1980s a group of dads of Inland Lakes students formed the Dad’s Club. In the following years members have come and gone and the group evolved into the Inland Lakes Boosters, Inc.
What do the Boosters do? The Boosters recently paid off the Bleacher loan for the new aluminum bleachers at the football/track complex. The next project is up to you.
Do the Boosters only support athletics? Several projects have been geared towards the athletic programs but the Boosters have assisted in many other projects over the years. Some things that the Boosters have contributed to over the years—
o    Uniforms for band, cheerleading, middle school track
o    Drama Keyboard
o    Donations to individuals, groups and teams including middle school trip to Lansing for several years, individuals s for educational trips and camps (People to People, French Club, Spanish Club, Class trips)
o    Assist with sports banquets by providing ham, potatoes, punch and rolls and setting out the food
o    Infrastructure and maintenance—
o    Elementary Pavilion
o    Fertilizer and seed for football field
o    Track maintenance (rubberization and paint)
o    Concession stand with indoor toilet facilities and press box
o    Paving around the track/field
How are the Boosters currently funding projects? Funding is by selling 50/50 tickets at home games and in the spring running the consessions at home track meets.
How can you help? See Doug Schofield to sell 50/50 tickets. Come to a meeting and share your fundraising ideas.
Why would you want to join the Boosters? Being a Booster member opens up opportunities to meet other parents and students from Inland Lakes and other schools, make new friend and have fun.
