& Serve) Susan Whitener will be presenting Students Going Green at the 14th Annual
Institute: Service-Learning and Civic Engagement. The program takes place in
Traverse City February 9-10th. Susan Whitener said the Inland Lakes team is
scheduled to present on the afternoon of the 9th. Principal Killingbeck said this
is an opportunity to showcase the dedication and hard work of students and staff. We

Dear Parents/Guardians of our Inland Lakes Students,
Over the last few years there has been a drastic increase in the changes parents
make, regarding the transportation plans for their child(ren), at the end of the
school day. We have also seen a significant increase in the number of children that
use our bus transportation to attend after school parties and sleepovers! Instead
of 60 students on a bus there will be 70-80 students trying to ride the bus that
All students going to college next year should fill out a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) no matter what your family income is. By applying you can see if you qualify for Pell grants and will have access to cheaper student loans. The earliest you can apply is January 1st and the latest you should submit your application is February 28th.
Inland Lakes Schools recently received a gift: a designated cash donation of $20,000. The gift was from a generous benefactor who is part of a group of Columbus Beach families who regularly demonstrate their support for students through various initiatives such as: Inland Lakes Educational Foundation (Scholarships), CISCO (technology programs), and Helping Kids Grow Strong.
Mrs. Jill Blaskowski has worked at Inland Lakes Schools for 21 years. During her time at Inland Lakes Schools she has taught high school social studies and French. She has served as the schools French Club advisor taking a number of students over the years to Europe during the summer. Mrs. B. also oversees the high school student of the month program.
